Get to know Zoom
What is Zoom?
Zoom is a web collaboration and online video meeting tool you’ll use to attend live IU classes and events. As an IU student, you have free access to a Zoom Pro account that allows you to:
- Attend live classes and meetings online with high-quality HD video and audio
- Ask questions and participate in discussions with video, chat, or emoji reaction features
- Record classes and automatically upload cloud recordings to Kaltura, or download recordings as MP4 files
- Host your own online study groups or student organization meetups
Getting started with Zoom
First, you’ll need to download Zoom to your computer, or download the mobile app to your smartphone or tablet. Then, use your IU username and passphrase to log into your IU Zoom account.
