My research focuses on the physical and chemical processes occurring beneath the ice sheets of Greenland and Antarctica, with the goal of understanding the feedbacks between continental glaciation and global geochemical cycling. My past work has included development of meteoric 10Be as a tracer of subglacial processes, chemical mass balance for the Greenland Ice Sheet, stable isotopes of ice, and rates of chemical alteration in blue ice moraines. I am starting an NSF-funded project to use mineralogy, meteoric 10Be, and U-series isotopes to constrain the type and rates of chemical cycling occurring in East Antarctica.
