Summer and Fall 2017 Faculty and Graduate Exchanges: Call For Applications

General Information

The Pan Asia Institute is happy to announce openings for both faculty and graduate student research exchanges between Indiana University and the Australian National University in Canberra, Australia. The institute offers support for one- to six-week exchanges focusing on Asian and Pan-Asian studies, including round-trip economy class airfare to Canberra, study and research privileges at ANU, and a stipend for lodging and living expenses while working at ANU.

Applications for both faculty and graduate student exchanges during the summer and fall 2017  terms must be submitted via email to panasia@iu.edu by  March 3, 2017.  The application requirements for the two types of exchanges are as follows:

Faculty Exchanges

Please submit the following as a single PDF file to panasia@iu.edu:

  • Completed application cover sheet
  • A brief statement of purpose (four page maximum) detailing the reasons for the exchange and the individuals or units at ANU with which the applicant will collaborate
  • A short (three page maximum) curriculum vitae

Graduate Student Exchanges

Please submit the following as a single PDF file to panasia@iu.edu:

  • Completed application cover sheet
  • A brief statement of purpose (four page maximum) detailing the reasons for the exchange and the individuals and units at ANU relevant to the project
  • A curriculum vitae
  • An unofficial copy of your IU transcript
  • One letter of recommendation (may be included in PDF or mailed directly to panasia@iu.edu)
