With the growing importance of the pan-Asian region in world affairs, developing a new generation of scholars devoted to the region is of critical importance. Such specialists are needed in the halls of academe, in seats of government, and in a variety of nonprofit and for-profit organizations. We invite you to join us in supporting this important endeavor through a variety of tax-deductible donations:

Undergraduate Overseas Study Fellowship

Living and studying abroad is a life-changing experience – students learn not only how to work within different cultures and systems, but also frequently reflect on previously held assumptions about their own countries and cultures as well as their personal roles as global and engaged citizens. An overseas study experience in the undergraduate years often leads to a lifetime of international engagement. With your generous support, the Pan Asia Institute will be able to provide undergraduate students with grants to support their overseas experience. Such funding can be used to defray costs associated with:

  • Travel to the host country.
  • Living and incidental expenses while abroad.
  • Tuition, fees, and other mandatory expenses related to the study abroad program.

Program Development Fund

In addition to providing support for students, the Pan Asia Institute also facilitates collaborative research, organizes workshops, conferences, and symposia, and supports on-going faculty research and exchanges at ANU and IU. The Institute also seeks out ways to share the fruits of such research with a broad audience through supporting public lectures, publication of research findings, and community events. With your generous support, the Pan Asia Institute will be able to expand its programming efforts, bringing an ever widening group of pan-Asian scholars together to work on timely issues facing the region and the world. Program Development Funds will be used to:

  • Support faculty exchanges by helping to defray travel and living expenses while abroad.
  • Develop workshops and seminars that will expand and support on-going research in key areas related to Asia.
  • Organize public lectures and support events that bring the field of pan-Asian studies to a broad community audience.
